【Main
Composition】Doxycycline Hyclate
【Physical appearance】Yellow to brown yellow clear solution.
【Pharmacological
effect】 Doxycycline belongs to a
group of tetracycline antibiotics. It can reversibly bind to the receptor on
the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosome, interfering with the formation of ribosomal
complex of tRNA and mRNA, and ultimately inhibiting protein synthesis by preventing
the extension of the peptide chain, which leads to suppression of growth of
bacteria. It is effective against both gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative
bacteria, and has cross resistance to oxytetracycline and chlortetracycline.
【Indication】 It is used for the treatment of infectious diseases
of pig caused by gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria and Mycoplasma, such as mycoplasma
pneumonia, colibacillosis, salmonellosis and pasteurellosis, etc.
【Usage
and dosage】Intramuscular injection: 5-10mg/kg of body
weight (0.05-0.1ml/kg of body weight)
per day and 2-3 consecutive days for pig.
【Adverse reaction】
1. Intramuscular injection may cause pain
in the injection site, inflammation and necrosis.
2. It has some
hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity, overdosage may cause serious liver damage.
Fatal kidney poisoning will occur occasionally.
【Notes】
1. It should be cautiously used for animals with serious
damage of liver and kidney .
2. It is forbidden
for the treatment of pregnant and lactating animals due to drug is easy to pass
through placenta and into milk.
【Withdrawal
period】28 days for pig.
